Sequential Vapour Injection Training

we are holding regular sequential vapour injection introductory courses in our Oakleigh office. You are comprehensively showed how easy to install the romano product by our expert panel of tutors.

When our next class will be advertised in this page. If you are interested in attending this course you can register here.

Please note these classes are held free of charge and you will be provided with food etc.

Sequential Vapour injection from Romano

The older LPG installations use a mixer valve just ahead of the air filter where LPG vapour is mixed with the incoming air and sucked into the engine. These systems benefit from low cost and ease of installation.

However, they do suffer drawbacks, specifically short delays in performance when switching from petrol to gas, the need to install backfire protection systems that are not always 100% effective performance and fuel economy limitations. Until quite recently they were the only option available however we now have the sequential vapour injection system available from Romano in Italy.

SVI uses and injector for each engine cylinder which is installed by removing the inlet manifold and drilling a hole close to the inlet valve. The injectors are then connected via a wiring loom to an ECU (computer). The ECU measures various engine sensors and determine form a ‘map’ how much gas to inject into each cylinder. This happens many times per second and after installation the system learns the engine characteristics. In addition it uses the lambda sensors fitted to all modern engines (post 1994) to detect the exact amount of oxygen remaining in the exhaust gasses and uses this to fine tune the fuel metering. This is known as ‘closed loop’ operation and ensures maximum engine performance and economy that cannot be matched by the older mixer systems.

Of course this complexity means that the SVI system is more expensive and takes longer to install, but it results in an installation that offers virtually identical performance and fuel economy given with petrol- at less than half the cost!

Applications
Can be installed on almost any vehicle that has a Lambda sensor and ECU (nearly all post 1994 vehicles). IT is available for all engines from 3 to 8 cylinders.

Key benefits
Negligible chance of backfiring and consequent damage
Better performance at high rpm
Only a very small loss on mpg compared to petrol
Disadvantages
Complex to install- the inlet manifold is modified to accommodate the injectors.

Romano leads the field
Since January 2002 Romano have been producing better and better injectors and we are now fitting 6th generation injectors with new developments to follow.
